"It is an amazing feeling to be able to pull together my resources and give back to my community and to children across the world."

My name is Nathaline, and I want to be a doctor in the future. As such, I have volunteered my time at various hospitals around my area and have gained valuable experiences, interacting with patients and other medical personnel. I volunteer two days a week in the ER, greeting the patients who come in and bringing them to their hospital rooms when a room becomes available.

In addition to this, every Christmas, my church participates in a project called Operation Christmas Child. We pack shoeboxes with school supplies, toys, and clothes; and send them overseas to children who otherwise, wouldn’t receive Christmas gifts. This is one of the reasons why I look forward to Christmas every year! I have such a heart for these children, and it always brings a tear to my eye, to see pictures of these poverty-stricken children. Of course, it doesn’t hurt that as they’re receiving these shoeboxes, they are also learning about the wonderful love that Jesus has for them. As part of the Angel Tree ministry, I have also reached out to the children and family members of inmates by purchasing gifts for them and visiting with them.

I have also donated to the Aids Walk in LA on numerous occasions, in honor of one of my favorite couples on General Hospital, Patrick and Robin, and their portrayers Jason Thompson and Kimberly McCollough. And this year, I am excited that I am able to donate to the Habitat for Humanity house that GH fans are building for a deserving family, started by my other favorite couple, Jolivia!

I really am blessed with good health and good fortune, and I feel it is my obligation to help those who are less fortunate than I am.
