Mark Hapka  (Nathan Horton, Days Of Our Lives)
Mark Hapka found his way to Los Angeles from Syracuse, NY in 2005. Shortly after his arrival in L.A. he enrolled in acting classes and worked in student films. 2007 found Mark with a role in James Franco's Good Time Max. It was around this time that he began starring as Zach in Ghost Whisperer: The Other Side, the internet series spin off of CBS' Ghost Whisperer. Not one to keep still, Mark started portraying Dr. Nathan Horton on Days of Our Lives in the summer of 2009. He also has three projects in post production.

Mark also keeps busy giving back. Among the causes he supports: ONE, Starlight Foundation and Variety's Power of Youth.

ONE is a grassroots campaign and advocacy organization backed by more than 2 million people who are committed to the fight against extreme poverty and preventable disease, particularly in Africa. Co-founded by Bono and other campaigners, ONE is nonpartisan and works closely with African policy makers and activists. You can find more information on ONE here.

Variety’s Power of Youth is a new philanthropic program designed to encourage the next generation in Hollywood to become involved with humanitarian efforts. To learn more about this program, click here.

Starlight Foundation has dedicated itself to improving the quality of life for children with chronic and life-threatening illnesses and life-altering injuries by providing entertainment, education and family activities that help them cope with the pain, fear and isolation of prolonged illness. More information on Starlight Foundation can be found here.

With grassroot organizations, there are plenty of ways that you can help. ONE is no different. You can join Mark in the fight against extreme poverty and preventable disease in several ways:

Lobby: Constituents reaching out to their representatives are the most powerful lobbyists. Learn how to write an effective letter here.

Declare: Declare a ONE city and a ONE state. Currently, more than 130 cities and 13 states across the nation have been proclaimed a "ONE City" or "ONE State." Help raise awareness in your city with information listed here.

Attend or create an event: You have a tremendous opportunity to take action and influence those in your community by raising awareness about the issues of extreme poverty and global disease. An effective way to take action is to host a ONE event. Find out how here
