Martha Byrne appeared in the role of Lily Snyder on the CBS Daytime Drama As The World Turns. She portrayed the role of Lily from 1985 through 1989 and reprised it in 1993. Identical twin, Rose D’Angelo, was introduced in 2000 and the dual role continued for three years. She has received eight Emmy nominations and received Emmys in 2001 for Outstanding Lead Actress and in 1987 for Outstanding Ingenue. Her award collection also includes numerous magazine awards and three National Viewer’s Voice Awards. Martha's current project, Gotham The Series (web) is receiving rave reviews and applause from her fans.
Martha’s resume also includes numerous television pilots, the ABC mini-series, The Hamptons. She was featured in the film The Beniker Gang, before becoming a permanent cast member of As the World Turns in 1985. After four successful years on the show, Martha decided to leave to pursue other opportunities. Her guest appearance on In the Heat of the Night inspired Executive Producer and TV legend Carroll O’Connor to submit her work for Emmy consideration. Additionally, Bob Hope selected Martha to appear on his NBC special, America’s Top Ten Stars of the Future and presented her with his higest accolades.
Martha is married to a retired NYPD Sergeant and has two beautiful children.
