Martha Madison

(ex-Belle Black, DOOL)
Martha Madison, a Texan at heart, first found herself on stage at age 6 at the Actor's Theatre of Houston. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Texas A&M University in August of 1999. After college she attended the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City. Prior to spending close to three years bringing the character of Belle Black to life on NBC's Days of Our Lives, Martha had a 4-day stint on Passions.

When we contacted Martha about being a part of fansgivingback.org, she immediately replied "(I) would love to see the National MS Society on your site."

Martha knows firsthand about the effects of multiple sclerosis. She has seen real-life drama unfold in her mother's battle with the disease. Madison was six years old when her mother, a single parent, was diagnosed with MS. She did not truly understand the impact of MS until she got older and learned more about it. She learned, like many family members do, that MS was a disease that would affect the whole family.

"As I grew older, I began to understand that my mother was really sick. She had her fair share of good days, but her periodic attacks were still really unpredictable and scary. However, her tremendous courage and resilience, as well as available treatments, brought us all through it every time. My absolute admiration and love for my mother has ignited my initiative to share our story and get involved."
