Michael Muhney attended DePaul University’s The Theatre
School (formerly The Goodman School of Drama) in Chicago where he
received a BFA in Acting, studying the entire Shakespeare catalogue. Michael stepped into the role of Adam Newman in summer of 2009 and hit the ground running, bringing with him a wealth of prime time credits, most notably Sheriff Don Lamb from the CW cult hit Veronica Mars.
Speaking of running, Michael was the Honorary Chairperson
and Host for The 12th Annual L.A. Cancer Challenge 5K/10K
Run this past October. A broken collarbone prevented him from running this year but it did not keep him from cheering on over 5,500 runners, volunteers and sponsors who helped to raise over $550,00 for the Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research.
The mission of the Hirshberg Foundation is to improve early
detection and find a cure for Pancreatic Cancer.Their research
at the UCLA Medical Center and partnerships with research
centers around the world are helping speed up the process
of finding a cure for all forms of cancer. It’s not
impossible.
Sadly, Pancreatic Cancer is one of the deadliest cancers and over42,000 people are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer each year.
Vastly improved treatments and an eventual cure can only be
achieved through intense research. Pancreatic Cancer is one
of the most under-funded cancers. Treatments, earlier
detection and a cure can only be achieved with more funding.
Yes, you can make a difference in fighting this disease.
