When
Terrell Ransom, Jr. made his television debut in May 2008 as Theo Carver on Days of Our Lives, he became the first child actor to portray a toddler that received the diagnosis of Autism. The role garnered him a 2009 Young Artist Award Nomination for Best Performance in a TV Series as a Recurring Young Actor. Terrell has become a strong advocate of Autism awareness since portraying "Theo". Through his advocacy and philanthropy work, Terrell has made friends from all walks of life while inspiring others. One of the friends he's made is his older "brother" Jaylen Arnold who has Tourette Syndrome & Asperger's (broad spectrum Autism).
Jaylen began symptoms of Tourette when he was 2 years old. The diagnosis came
at age 3. The OCD followed by age 4, and Aspergers
was diagnosed at age 8. There is no cure for Tourette and there isn't much known about this disorder.
Having been the victim of bullying because of his medical conditions, he is ready to change the world through his "Bullying NO WAY!" challenge. Jaylen has already been on CBS News with Katie Couric, but he's not ready to stop there. His goal is to have Oprah, President Obama and The Jonas Brothers wear his Bullying NO WAY! wristbands and join him to make bullying obsolete.
Jaylen just finished shooting a PSA (below) with actor Dash Mihok. This commercial is a must see for all parents and educators.
